Good Bye “Aerodrome” and Hello “Radio”
On December 28th, 2023, the call sign “AERODROME” will disappear in Austria, from this point on, ground stations at uncontrolled airfields will receive the call sign “RADIO”.
These are requirements of the European Union to further harmonize aviation in Europe and thus make cross-border flying easier.
Pilots from neighboring countries such as Germany are already aware of this change.
